As Co-Chair, I raise local funds for our schools and work
with District Administration to determine the best programs
for funding.
• Ventura Education Partnership/GrantSmart

As a Board member, I am learning about the needs of our
VUSD teachers and staff through the reading and administering
of classroom grants.
• Parent Advisory Committee
(PAC) -
6 year member; meeting with the Superintendent and school
site representatives to discuss issues facing the district,
teachers and our children.
• IPM Committee -
As a voting member, I meet regularly and work closely with
VUSD Maintenance and Operations, Child Nutrition Services
and Risk Management to implement the IPM policy.
• Nutrition and Physical Fitness Task Force
- As a Member, I work with parents, VUSD health services,
and child nutrition departments to draft policies to create
healthier schools.
• Arts Advocacy Collaborative -
As a Member, I help to determine the needs of each school
site and work to get the Arts back into our classrooms.
I have also been involved at individual
school sites through my participation as a classroom volunteer,
Project Self-Esteem teacher, active PTO and PTA member,
and School Site Council Representative.
